Day 5 GOD IS ENOUGH

Philippians 4:19-KJV

“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

When we are in the valley, God is Enough. When we are on the mountain top, God is more than enough. Whether loss or turmoil comes into our lives, if we can just remember He is the God of the valley and the Mountain top.

A saying I once heard goes like this:” When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.”

Prayer thought: Father help me to realize that in each and every situation You are more than enough to see me through.

Overcoming Fear

DAY 5

ISAIAH 55:22 KJV

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never  suffer the righteous to be moved.”

There is an element and burden of fear associated with grief. I remember then my son died unexpectantly this fear of “why” penetrated my being. This fear captured my sleep, and I would lie awake. But, Praise the Lord, one night, He gave me this verse which comforted me and assured me of His presence. Just to let me know yes, I can cast my burden on the Lord, yes, He will sustain me, and yes, His righteousness is revealed.

Prayer thought:  Lord I want to thank You for sustaining me when in the grips of fear and showing forth Your mercy.

THE TROUBLED SEA

Psalms 65:7-KJV- “Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.”

Our lives are like a sea. Sometimes the sea is calm, other times the winds of adversity and trouble are blowing. During these times I am grateful I know the Master of the Sea.

Prayer for today- Lord help me to always rely on your promises each and every day.

DAY 3 ANCHOR SURE, AND SECURE Hebrews 6:19-KJV-“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;” When troubles come into our lives, and we are tossed about with waves of turmoil and grief, we have an Anchor of the soul, Our Lord Jesus. He holds us steadfast and sure. An anchor is: a device usually of metal attached to a ship or boat by a cable and cast overboard to hold it in a particular place by means of a fluke that digs into the bottom, per an online dictionary. Speaks for itself. Prayer thought: Father as your child, help me to always know that you’re my anchor, steadfast, sure, and secure.

Day 2 ABIDING IN HIM THE NEW YEAR John 15:7 This is a promise from God’s word. The stipulation is that we have to abide in Him, know Him as our personal Savior. As His child, He wants us to ask Him anything. Especially in times of grief and turmoil. Prayer thought: Lord help me today and this New Year to depend solely on you and your promises.

MADE IT THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS

II Corinthians 1:3-4- KJV-“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;4-who comforted us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

God is the God of all comfort. He understands or heartaches and troubles.
I made it, yet through another Christmas and the first Christmas without our son, who passed away April of 2004. I really dreaded the holidays. But God in his mercy filled the void that year, After eleven years of not knowing where our granddaughter was, we heard from her. She stated that she wanted to come see us and her dad (our oldest son). She came and spent Christmas with us.

Prayer thought—Thank you Lord for surrounding me with your love. I need you today. To God be the glory!
